GTO Offset Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented GTO Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Heidelberg GTO printing presses (single or multi-color) to produce high-quality printed materials. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for color accuracy, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to meeting production deadlines while minimizing waste.

Key Responsibilities

• Setup & Operation: Set up Heidelberg GTO printing presses according to job specifications (ink, water balance, plates, and paper stock).
• Quality Control: Monitor the printing process continuously to ensure correct registration, color consistency, and sharp print quality. Adjust ink and water keys as needed.
• Maintenance: Perform routine troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and thorough cleaning of the press (rollers, blankets, and ink fountains).
• Job Review: Read and interpret job tickets to determine quantities, stock specifications, and special instructions.
• Efficiency: Manage run speeds to meet production targets while keeping paper and ink waste to a minimum.
• Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area adhering to all company safety protocols.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience operating Heidelberg GTO presses (GTO 46, GTO 52, etc.).
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of offset printing processes, ink/water balance, plate positioning, and paper weights.
• Color Vision: Excellent color perception and matching skills (ability to pass a color blindness test may be required).
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to [e.g., 50 lbs], and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Detail-Oriented: Strong focus on precision, quality control, and spotting minor print defects quickly.
• Schedule flexibility: Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekends as production demands require.
