The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a hands-on leadership role where you'll own the deal origination function, from identifying and nurturing acquisition opportunities to managing a small, high-performing team of three. Expect a 50/50 mix of strategy and execution: leading from the front, driving deal flow, and building meaningful relationships with founders of high-potential tech businesses.

You'll combine your commercial acumen with curiosity, emotional intelligence, and hustle to find, validate, and win opportunities that fit the acquisition mandate. You'll meet founders, listen to their stories, and ensure that when they're ready to sell, our client is their acquirer of choice.

What You'll Do
  • Generate and manage deal flow across the B2B software landscape (companies with $1M+ EBITA).
  • Qualify and score potential acquisitions on their readiness to sell and alignment with mandate.
  • Build and nurture trusted, long-term relationships with founders and business owners.
  • Use AI tools, automation, and creative outreach to scale origination efforts efficiently.
  • Design and run targeted marketing initiatives to attract founders and create awareness.
  • Provide expert, consultative advice and insights to potential sellers.
  • Lead a small team (3) of analysts and BDMs, fostering a high-performance, entrepreneurial culture.
  • Continuously improve systems, processes, and tools to accelerate growth.
What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years' experience in commercial or business leadership roles, ideally in tech.
  • Proven success in business development, origination, or consultative sales within B2B.
  • Experience working in early-stage, start-up, or scale-up environments, comfortable being hands-on.
  • High emotional intelligence, curiosity, and the ability to build rapport with diverse founders quickly.
  • A strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and leads by doing.
  • Strong commercial judgment and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Tech-savvy and data-driven, with a passion for leveraging AI and automation to work smarter.
