Mayfair Technology Partners (MTP) is a digital agency that partners with businesses and innovators to build the digital infrastructure that brings ideas to life. We design and develop web and mobile applications, as well as mid-tier and back-end platforms, for clients worldwide.

We are seeking a Head of Engineering to lead technical planning and project delivery from initiation to closure. You will work closely with development teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure projects meet business goals and exceed expectations.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with strategic thinking, leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and adaptability.

1. Strategy Development and Planning:

  • Lead the MTP technical strategy, design and implementation plan for the short term and the long-term strategic objectives in mind.
  • Lead the MTP Digital Services team to continue the planning, development and implementation of an updated technology roadmap, including creating and transitioning to a sustainable architecture, based on best practices.
  • Own the planning and prioritising of resources across the Technology team to ensure an effective balance between our tech transformation. BAU project delivery, ongoing client software maintenance and support of platforms & services.
  • Work collaboratively with the staff and partners, at all levels across the organization in the UK, Pakistan, UAE and other new locations. This is to ensure that our digital and technology services and products are customer led, cost effective, scalable, easy to use and meet current and future needs.
  • Advise and manage the transitions away from legacy platforms, before they become an impediment to progress.
  • Further develop MTP’s capability, processes and team structures in managing change, agile software development, architecture, deployment, cyber security, data management and service management.
  • Provide overall technical leadership and direction to the organization and the technology team, encouraging controlled innovation and improvement in the technology and data systems, processes and ways of working.

2. Technical Sales:

  • To support presales process by joining sales calls and leading scoping sessions with potential clients to ascertain their vision and translate those into detailed requirements.
  • Contribute to the writing of bids, proposals, costing and pricing as required. Support business development activities to help new business conversations happen.

3. Software Development:

  • Play a critical role in key decision making including choosing the most applicable tech stack
  • and technical frameworks whilst building out a dedicated, or project-based development team
  • Supervise and manage the build of our platform from the ground up including daily scrum stand-ups with the chosen software house
  • Work with multiple stakeholders including senior management, climate change engineers, product management and 3rd party suppliers to coordinate the technical vision of the product roadmap
  • Elicit user requirements and translate to technical specifications to be disseminated to the wider development team
  • Establish and manage a backlog of requirements to decide viability.
  • Strategically contribute to and embed the vision of the business into decision making to curate a culture driven towards a more sustainable future
  • Manage a help desk daily activity, ensuring timely and professional delivery of support against agreed service levels.
  • Assign responsibility of all support incidents ensuring all tickets are progressed and resolved within departmental SLA’s
  • Develop a wide understanding of all systems and technologies used by MTP and its business clients.

4. Enterprise Architect Responsibilities:

  • As an Enterprise Architect, you will lead other Solution Architects, Business Analysts, ensuring that MTP’s technical strategy achieves its goals through the proper architecture of its technology systems. Their duties include regulating the technology environment, increasing flexibility and reducing costs.
  • Creating business architecture models to reflect client strategies, objectives and goals.
  • Suggesting ideas to reduce costs, improve efficiencies, improve product & data security.

5. General Management of Tech Team:

  • Manage the technical team’s performance and develop feedback reports for Human Resource department to process and update.
  • Identify resource requirements and work with Human Resources department to recruit permanent or project-based resources.
  • Help build a process of resource selection with the Human Resource department, making sure key criterion is followed for screening stage. Lead the process for technical stage interviews and be responsible for selecting the technical resources.
  • Identify process improvement and opportunities, including training requirements end-user training tools and documentation.
