Premium beauty/skincare brand for Pakistani women (25-40). Pre-launch stage. Lahore-based.The Role
You'll own product development and customer validation - the bridge between what we can make and what women actually want to buy repeatedly.
Core Responsibilities:
Product Development (60% of role)
- Test products on yourself, document results rigorously (photos, daily notes)
- Work directly with manufacturers to refine formulations based on feedback
- Make go/no-go decisions on product quality, packaging, scent, texture
- Manage product iteration cycles (testing → feedback → reformulation)
- Ensure products meet safety standards and customer expectations
Customer Intelligence (40% of role)
- Conduct 50+ direct customer interviews in first 90 days
- Recruit women from your network for product testing (10-20 per batch)
- Run feedback loops: surveys, WhatsApp groups, video calls
- Identify which customer segments have highest repeat purchase rates
- Translate customer complaints into specific product improvement requests for manufacturers
What You'll Actually Do (First 90 Days)
- Week 1-2: Test 3 product samples, gather feedback from 20 women
- Week 3-4: Work with manufacturer to adjust formulation based on feedback
- Week 5-8: Test improved version with 100 paying customers, track satisfaction
- Week 9-12: Analyze who reorders and why, propose next product iteration
Who You Are
Must-Haves:
Beauty enthusiast who lives and breathes skincare/cosmetics
- You try new products regularly and have strong opinions on what works
- You follow beauty influencers, YouTubers, and industry trends
- You know ingredient lists (niacinamide, retinol, hyaluronic acid, etc.) and what they actually do
- You have a multi-step skincare routine you're passionate about
- Friends ask YOU for product recommendations
Woman, 25-40, deeply understands Pakistani women's beauty concerns
- You know the difference between what women SAY they want vs what they'll actually buy
- You understand cultural nuances (skin brightening preferences, modest packaging, etc.)
- You've experienced the frustrations of buying beauty products in Pakistan
Brutally honest product critic
- Will tell us when a product isn't good enough, even if we spent money on it
- Can articulate specifically what's wrong (texture, scent, packaging, results)
- High standards - won't compromise on quality just to launch faster
Detail-oriented executor
- Comfortable having difficult conversations with customers AND manufacturers
- Can spot formulation issues, packaging problems, quality inconsistencies
- Documents everything obsessively
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience working with manufacturers, salons, or beauty brands
- Product management or quality control background
- Chemistry, cosmetics, or dermatology education
- Existing network of beauty-conscious women who trust your recommendations
- Experience testing products and creating reviews (blog, Instagram, YouTube)
What You Get
Compensation:
- Rs. 100,000/month base
- 10% revenue share on all sales
- 5% equity (vesting over 2 years)

- You can't handle seeing most experiments fail
- You're not comfortable pushing back on manufacturers about quality issues
- You need everything figured out before starting
