Head Power

Seeking an experienced business and technical leader to head the Power sector within a global engineering services setup. The Sector Head will own strategy, P&L, delivery excellence, customer relationships, and capability growth across a portfolio that spans Generation (Thermal / Hydro / Renewables / BESS), Transmission, and Distribution.

This role is ideally suited for a leader who understands the engineering services business model, has managed large-scale programs and multi-geography delivery, and has a proven track record of expanding accounts and developing high-performing teams.

Business Strategy & Growth

Define and execute the 3-5 year sector strategy and annual operating plans. Create sustainable year-on-year growth by identifying new markets, alliances, and value propositions.

P&L Ownership & Forecasting

Full accountability for revenue, margins, utilization, DSO, cash conversion, and working capital. Build accurate and rolling forecasts and drive operational discipline. (Annual business scale handled previously: ₹100 Cr / multimillion USD preferred).

Program & Delivery Excellence

Oversee consulting and engineering delivery across FEED, detail design, substations, protection & control, transmission lines, and grid modernization programs. Ensure safety, compliance, and execution excellence across the portfolio.

Customer & Market Leadership

Act as the senior escalation and relationship leader for strategic clients globally. Engage CXO and senior engineering leadership to strengthen account pull and increase wallet share.

People & Capability Development

Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of discipline leaders and project managers. Develop technical specialists and future successors; drive a culture of excellence, learning, and innovation.

Technology & Innovation Enablement

Encourage adoption of digital and emerging technologies such as BIM/Digital Twin, model-based engineering, advanced simulation tools, and asset performance platforms.

Governance & Standards

Conduct periodic portfolio reviews; ensure compliance with engineering standards, contracts, QHSE, and internal delivery frameworks.

Required Background

Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Power / Energy discipline (M.Tech preferred; MBA in Strategy / Operations / International Business is a strong advantage) Experience: 15-20+ years total, with minimum 10 years in the Power sector Leadership Credentials: Led large engineering / EPC / utility-focused programs across T&D, substations, generation, and grid modernization Experience managing global clients and multi-million USD projects or P&L Strong command of IEC / IEEE standards, grid codes, system studies (load flow, stability, harmonics), HV/EHV design, DER / microgrid integration Commercial & Contracting Knowledge: EPCM, T&M, Lump Sum, MSAs, pricing, proposals, risk planning, claims, and negotiation
