Job Title: Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician (In-House)
Location: Wilson, NC (Serving multiple local concepts)
Position Type: Full-Time / On-Call Service
Salary Range: $70,000 – $100,000 / year (Depending on experience)
About Us
We are a growing, fast-casual and full-service restaurant group based right here in Wilson, NC. Instead of relying on slow, expensive third-party contractors to keep our kitchens running, we are bringing our maintenance in-house. We pride ourselves on a supportive culture, quick decision-making, and taking care of the people who keep our business hot and our drinks cold.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled, licensed, and certified Commercial HVAC/Refrigeration Technician to oversee the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all climate control and refrigeration systems across our restaurant locations. Because restaurant emergencies don't always happen between 9-to-5, this role requires dedication to an on-call schedule to ensure minimal downtime for our kitchens.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose & Repair: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems, walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-in refrigerators, ice machines, and make tables.
- Preventative Maintenance: Implement and execute a strict PM schedule (filter changes, coil cleaning, belt replacements) to minimize emergency breakdowns.
- On-Call Response: Respond promptly to urgent, after-hours service calls to keep our restaurants operational and protect food inventory.
- Parts & Inventory: Source and manage parts inventory efficiently, balancing cost with kitchen urgency.
- Compliance: Maintain accurate logs of repairs, refrigerant usage, and equipment conditions while ensuring compliance with EPA regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensure: Valid North Carolina HVAC license (H3 or equivalent commercial classification preferred).
- Certification: EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in commercial HVAC/R, with a strong preference for restaurant or commercial kitchen environments.
- Skills: Proficient in reading electrical schematics, diagnosing complex refrigeration cycles, and working with various refrigerants.
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work a flexible, on-call schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Physical & Logistical: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight restaurant spaces/rooftops.
What We Offer
- Competitive Pay: $70,000 – $100,000 base salary (commensurate with experience and certifications).
- Stability: Consistent year-round work without the seasonal layoffs common in residential HVAC.
- Autonomy: Be the go-to expert for our group—no micro-management, just clear expectations.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
