Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing the complete HR function within a press shop environment, including recruitment, statutory compliance, employee relations, and workplace safety. Plays a key role in managing labor force dynamics and supporting production efficiency through effective human resource practices.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment & Staffing
- Collaborate with department heads to understand workforce needs.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for operators, supervisors, and support staff.
- Ensure legal and ethical compliance in hiring contractual and permanent workers.
2. Attendance & Payroll
- Monitor daily attendance through biometric/manual systems.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, leaves, and overtime.
- Coordinate with accounts and statutory bodies for wage compliance.
3. Employee Relations
- Address and resolve employee grievances and disciplinary issues.
- Foster a positive industrial relations climate
- Ensure fair treatment, motivation, and morale of shop floor employees.
4. Training & Development
- Plan and implement skill development programs and safety training (e.g., 5S, TPM, ergonomics).
- Maintain training logs and compliance documentation.
- Support operators and supervisors in continuous learning and performance improvement.
5. Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and the Factories Act.
- Handle statutory audits and inspections (ESI, PF, gratuity, etc.).
- Maintain all required registers and documentation.
6. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Work closely with the Safety Officer to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct regular safety awareness programs and drills.
- Monitor and enforce the use of PPE and safety signage on the shop floor.
7. Accident Management & Workplace Incidents
- Serve as the first point of HR contact in the event of a workplace accident.
- Coordinate immediate medical response and emergency handling procedures.
- Conduct internal investigations and prepare incident reports.
- Liaise with statutory bodies, insurance providers, and families as required.
- Ensure timely documentation and closure of legal and compensation processes.
8. Performance Management
- Implement and maintain appraisal systems for blue- and white-collar employees.
- Assist department heads in setting performance targets and monitoring outcomes.
- Address underperformance with corrective action plans or training.
9. HR Administration
- Maintain up-to-date employee records (digital and physical).
- Generate reports for management on manpower, absenteeism, attrition, etc.
- Supervise administrative areas such as canteen, uniforms, transport, and accommodation.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing/press shop environment.
- Sound knowledge of labor laws, accident handling, and shop floor operations.
- Proficient in MS Excel, HRMS, and ERP systems.
