HR-Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in driving practices and objectives that enhance Associa's employee-oriented, high-performance culture and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist assists with the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals. The Human Resources generalist is responsible for supporting the following areas:

  • recruiting and staffing;
  • employee benefits
  • employee relations; and
  • organization development;

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Recruiting & Staffing

  • Manages the recruitment process for exempt and nonexempt employees and interns using the standard recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce.
  • Reviews resumes for all candidates and interviews nonexempt and exempt, when assigned, candidates for employment.
  • Conducts the recruiting planning meetings when needed staff is identified.
  • Provides competitive market research and prepares pay studies to help establish pay practices and pay bands that help to recruit and retain superior staff.

Employee Relations

  • Participates in the conduct of investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
  • Partners with the Director of HR to recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
  • Assists Director of HR with the advisement of managers and supervisors about the steps in the progressive discipline system of the company. Counsels managers on employment issues.

Organization Development

  • Assists with the carrying out of a company-wide process of organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organization design, and change management.
  • Assists with employee communication and feedback through such avenues as company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, employee focus groups, one-on-one meetings, etc.
  • Conduct and document exit interviews, process of all separation activities
  • Helps to monitor the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

The Human Resources Generalist assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.

Supervisory Responsibility

No supervisory responsibilities.

Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000 per annum

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field with 4 years of experience in recruiting and staffing; employee relations; and organization development.
  • A combination of directly related experience and education can substitute for education on a 2 yrs experience per year of degree basis, although completion of a bachelor's degree is preferable.
  • Strong leadership, presentation and communication skills
  • A pro-active, high energy attitude geared toward achieving goals
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems
  • Must have a high level of discretion with prior experience handling confidential information.
