HR Generalist / Consultant

Oxnard, United States

Job Title: HR Generalist/Consultant (Bilingual required – English/Spanish)
Location: onsite Oxnard, CA (to start)
Start Date: November 1, 2025
Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite (to start), W2 Employee

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive, bilingual HR Generalist Consultant (HRGC) to join our team and support one of our key clients in Oxnard, CA—a fast-growing manufacturing company with 200 employees in California and 100 employees across the U.S. If you’re an HR professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys making a difference for employees at every level, we’d love to hear from you!

As an HR Generalist, you’ll take a hands-on, people-focused approach, serving as the first point of contact for employees and leaders on HR-related matters. You will be instrumental in shaping a positive employee experience, fostering engagement, and ensuring compliance with HR policies, labor laws, and company standards.

This is an unusual role: initially, this is a full-time, onsite, hands-on role with the client until they the project concludes. In many cases, our clients choose to offer an in-house role to our HRGCs after our transition. However, if this project ends and you do not transition to the client, you will have the opportunity to be assigned to another client if there is a similar project available, or you will have the opportunity to continue working with our firm as a part time Consultant, supporting multiple clients (onsite, hybrid, or entirely remote). We can assess the need at that time for a full-time position or whether the position will be in as-needed capacity (typically offering 5–30 hours per week, depending on client demand).

  • Reporting structure: While onsite, the HRGC will report to the HR Director. Should you transition into our Consultant network, you will report directly to our President.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted partner to employees and managers, providing guidance on workplace issues, performance, and conflict resolution.
  • Onboarding & Orientation: Lead new hire onboarding, ensuring a seamless experience that sets employees up for success.
  • Policy Development: Assist in creating, updating, and communicating HR policies to reflect best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Benefits Administration: Support employees with benefits enrollment, questions, and issue resolution; work with brokers and online resources.
  • HRIS Support: Maintain and update employee data, ensuring accuracy in HR systems and generating reports as needed.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws as well as internal policies.
  • Risk Management: Ensure safety is a daily focus; manage claims internally and work with brokers to mitigate losses.
  • Engagement & Culture: Contribute to initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • 3+ years of HR Generalist or related HR experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, benefits, and HR compliance.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and demonstrated abilities to utilize Microsoft Office Suite above the basic level.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills; a welcoming personality with ability to handle conflict with tact, and be professionally assertive in situations that are uncomfortable.
  • Unwavering commitment to friendly customer service at all levels across multiple organizations.
  • Ability to work onsite in Oxnard, CA (full time).

What We Offer

  • While in a full-time role, the wage is $33-36/hr DOE with medical benefits offered on 1st of the month following 60 days of employment. Full-time staff also have paid time off package available after 90-days.
  • Paid sick leave.
