Job Title: HR Manager
Location: Chennai
Experience: Minimum 10–15 years in HR operations preferably in a Retail organisation
Preferred Age: 35-45 years
Role Overview
The HR Manager will oversee all human resource functions across the retail and production network — including store staff, warehouse teams, kitchen staff, and head office employees. The role involves end-to-end responsibility for recruitment, onboarding, payroll, compliance, and employee engagement, ensuring that the organisation maintains a motivated, disciplined, and value-driven workforce.
Key Responsibilities1. Recruitment & Staffing
- Plan and execute recruitment for retail outlets, warehouse, kitchen, and support functions.
- Build a pipeline of reliable and skilled manpower for expanding store operations.
- Conduct interviews and coordinate with store managers and department heads for final selection.
- Manage onboarding and induction of new employees with clear communication of company values and policies.
2. Attendance, Payroll & Compliance
- Supervise attendance tracking across outlets and units; ensure timely data collection from stores.
- Process monthly payroll accurately and coordinate with accounts for disbursement.
- Manage statutory compliance — PF, ESI, Gratuity, Bonus, Shops & Establishments Act, etc.
- Maintain and update all employee records, ID cards, and documentation.
3. Employee Engagement & Retention
- Conduct orientation sessions, store-level team meetings, and employee recognition programs.
- Address staff concerns, grievances, and interpersonal issues sensitively and promptly.
- Promote a healthy, respectful, and safe work environment across all units.
- Implement retention initiatives and ensure a positive employee experience.
4. Performance & Policy Management
- Coordinate with store heads for periodic performance appraisals and goal setting.
- Standardise HR policies across outlets and ensure fair implementation.
- Provide HR insights to management on productivity, attendance patterns, and manpower costs.
- Enforce discipline, punctuality, and workplace ethics in a constructive manner.
5. Exit Management & Documentation
- Handle resignations, relieving formalities, and full-and-final settlements smoothly.
- Conduct exit interviews and identify patterns in attrition.
- Ensure timely clearance of dues and handover of responsibilities.
Key Skills & Attributes
- Strong people management skills suited to retail and frontline workforce.
- Ability to engage with staff at all levels — from sales executives to management.
- Knowledge of HR statutory requirements and labour laws applicable to retail.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, HRMS tools, and Google Workspace.
- Balanced approach — empathetic yet firm in enforcing processes.
Education
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Human Resources / Business Administration.
- Additional certifications in Labour Laws or Payroll Management will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
