Human Capital Management Analyst (Temporary/Interim)

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates accident & injury leave related programs, (e.g., Worker’s Compensation, Disability Leave Benefits, Occupational Injury & Transitional Work Programs) for Ohio Veterans Home-Georgetown.

  • Researches & ensures injuries/accidents are reported & all BWC (Bureau of Workers Compensation) forms are completed & forwarded to appropriate offices within 1 day from date of accident/injury.

  • Initiates, conducts & reports on all accidents not reported within established timeframes.

  • Verbally communicates with injured worker during first week of injury to ensure proper understanding of procedures & completion of all necessary forms.

  • Upholds weekly contact with injured workers regarding claim management & return to work status.

  • Investigates &/or coordinates operational investigation of accidents/incidents & ensures such investigations are completed within 5 business days of event.

  • Reviews investigations with Safety Coordinator & with departmental supervisory &/or line staff.

  • Coordinates employee health benefit programs; completes & processes required forms (e.g., health care, dental & vision, supplemental life forms) & enters required data into Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (i.e., OAKS); distributes copies & tracks makeup deductions to ensure no loss in coverage; counsels employees on insurance rates, covered benefits, preferred providers, understanding explanation of benefits (i.e., EOB).

  • Responds to employee questions & concerns & serves as liaison between insurance carriers & employees.

  • Serves as coordinator for Disability Leave Benefits Program & Occupational Injury Leave for Ohio Veterans Home-Georgetown.

  • Chairs Transitional Work Program Committee & serves as contact for employees able to work on restricted duty.

  • Develops reviews & revises policies & procedures relative to assigned program area; evaluates & analyzes incident/accident reports submitted & investigations conducted to identify trends, unsafe practices equipment & conditions.

  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications
2 yrs. exp. in human resources.

  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business or public administration.

  • Or 1 yr. exp. as Human Capital Management Associate, 64611.

  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Supplemental Information

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. The applicant is required to provide details of minimum qualifications on the application form. Failure to do so will prohibit consideration of the applicant. New hires agree to participate in the State of Ohio Direct Deposit of Paycheck Program per Section 124.151(B) of the Ohio Revised Code.

Unless otherwise required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be set at the lowest rate of the salary range with gradual increases after completing probation and following successful annual performance evaluations.

The final applicant selected for this position may be required to submit to urinalysis prior to an appointment to test for illegal drug use. The State will decline to extend a final offer of employment to any applicant with a verified positive test result. Also, an applicant with a positive test result will not be considered for any position with the State of Ohio for a period of one year (not applicable to current state employees).

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal records check as required by Section 3721.121 of the Ohio Revised Code. Applicants who have been convicted of or pleaded guilty to any of the offenses listed in 3721.121 (C)(1)(a) may be excluded from consideration.

In accordance with the Ohio Revised Code Section 125.151 (B), all employees whose employment commenced on or after June 5, 2002, and is paid by a warrant issued by the Auditor of State, must have his or her compensation directly deposited in the institution of their choice.
