Position Summary
Support day-to-day HR operations and programs, partnering with organizational leaders to execute HR strategies focused on workforce planning, employee engagement, total rewards, and organizational effectiveness. This role helps ensure Easterseals Redwood maintains a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture by administering HR policies and procedures and providing guidance across all areas of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, and performance management.
Essential and Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide HR guidance and support to all levels of the organization, partnering closely with managers and leaders.
- Maintain high levels of ethical and professional standards to promote respect and trust throughout the organization.
- Provide support in areas of coaching, performance management and policy administration.
- Manage job descriptions, performance appraisals, corrective action, and development plans.
- Respond to concerns regarding policies and compliance issues.
- Coach and advise managers and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Ensure regulatory compliance in all aspects of HR.
- Prepare and participate in internal and external audits through records retention, policy review and documentation as needed.
- Administer all HR programs, policies and procedures.
- Respond to employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and counsel management on corrective actions.
- Ensure data integrity within HRIS systems, assisting with administration as needed.
- Observe behavioral or organization-related events that impact staff and make recommendations to leadership.
- Assist in development and implementing HR initiatives (i.e. training, engagement, wellness) and process improvements.
- Assist in HR reports and metrics
- Oversee offboarding and exit interviews.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Easterseals Redwood needs from our HR Generalist:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience required
- At least three years of experience as an HR Generalist
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to travel to meetings and events as needed
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrates appropriate culture in alignment with the Easterseals Redwood mission, vision, philosophy, values and standards.
