Human Resources Generalist

Job Summary:

The HR Generalist will serve as the on-site human resources representative for the Johnstown branch, supporting day-to-day HR operations and ensuring alignment with company-wide HR strategies and compliance standards. This role will act as a resource for employees and managers on a wide range of HR matters including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits, and performance management.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provides administrative and clerical support to Human Resources department, including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, employee/labor relations, compensation, benefits, training, etc.
• Assist with records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations.
• Serve as the on-site HR representative and liaison between the Johnstown facility and Maryland HQ.
• Support employee relations, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
• Manage new hire orientation and off boarding processes.
• Provide guidance on HR policies, labor laws, and best practices.
• Coordinate employee training, development, and performance review processes.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
• Assist with safety initiatives and workers’ compensation reporting as needed.

Requirements:

Qualifications/Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with guidance from a remote HR team
• Experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity, Deltek Costpoint) and Microsoft Office Suite
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Occasionally will need to lift/and or move up to 10 lbs.
• Occasional Travel may be required.
• This is largely a sedentary role; This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
