Cowlitz PUD is the local publicly owned power company for Cowlitz County. We are currently looking for a Human Resource Generalist to join our Employee Services Team.

  • Resource Planning - Ensure an adequate and reliable power supply to meet the electric load requirements and clean energy obligations of Cowlitz PUD and the community.
  • System Reliability and Security - Develop and manage Cowlitz PUD’s assets and planning tools to ensure a high level of electric reliability, physical and cyber security, and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Human Resources Generalist must maintain the ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a positive and respectful manner while acting as a support role for the Employee Services Department. Some position responsibilities may include but not limited to assisting in recruitment and hiring of District personnel, assisting with the employee onboarding program, serves as a liaison for Wellness initiatives, and assists the Manager of Employee Services to achieve department goals and expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two (2) recent years of relevant Human Resources generalist related experience.
  • An Associate degree in Human Resources, Business, or a closely related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Training and Development, Business, or related field.
  • Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR), SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification.

Work Environment:

The work environment conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Work is performed in the office Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Remote work is not available for this position.

Pay: $83,636.00 - $121,231.00 per year
