Human Resources Generalist

Overview:

We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist, sometimes referred to as a Human Resources Business Partner (HR Business Partner) or Senior HR Representative. The HR Generalist in our hospital serves as a key resource to leaders and staff, supporting employee relations, performance management, compliance, and talent initiatives to ensure effective and consistent HR operations within the healthcare environment.

Days

Employment Type: Full-time (In-Person)

Hours: 8-hour shift – 8:00am to 5:00pm

Location: Harlingen Medical Center – Harlingen, TX

Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees regarding HR policies, performance concerns, and workplace issues
  • Lead employee relations processes including investigations, corrective actions, and documentation in alignment with hospital policy
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, recruitment coordination, and retention strategies
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and healthcare regulatory requirements, including labor laws and accreditation standards
  • Support performance management processes including evaluations, coaching conversations, and development planning
  • Assist with implementation of HR initiatives such as engagement programs, training efforts, and organizational changes
Qualifications:
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, or closely related field preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR or relevant human resources certifications or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5 years experience in a Human Resources; with two years of this experience being in healthcare preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce a large volume of material with attention to detail.
  • Computer knowledge that includes Excel, Word, Outlook.
