Summary
We're on the hunt for a dynamic and experienced HR Generalist to join our team in our new Indy Distribution Center (onsite role). You'll be the go-to person for all things HR especially focused on the second shift. You will move between responsibilities involving recruitment and employee relations to performance management and labor law compliance. You will have real impact on the facility and D&H whether it is through policies, procedures, engagement initiatives or project-based initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the end-to-end recruitment process for warehouse positions, including posting job ads, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and new hire entry into our HRIS systems.
- Conducts the onboarding program for all new hires. Onboarding includes but is not limited to benefits, payroll, safety, policies and procedures, and most importantly company culture.
- Responsible for all the front-line HR inquiries and responses, including proactively communicating on changes, programs, or similar to keep the co-owners informed.
- Address, resolve or escalate employee issues, conflicts, or investigations in a timely, fair, consistent, and professional manner in accordance with our policies and procedures. You will partner with your HR Manager and the Operations team while working through any of these situations.
- Encourages change and creative problem solving through the entire organization.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace environment, promoting open communication and employee engagement. This role, along with the operations team is responsible for creating and maintain the D&H Company culture.
- Coaching supervisors on proper responses to employee activities, both recognizing positive situations and addressing negative situations. Ensuring performance review process is being adhered to and provide support as needed.
- Identify training needs and coordinate training sessions to enhance employee skills and knowledge. Supports the operations team in the creation of development plans in the facility.
- Responsible for data integrity of co-owner data in HRIS tools, this includes pay, department, supervisor and more. Also, this role creates and provides HR Reporting as needed and HR Metrics such as turnover rates, absenteeism, and employee satisfaction.
- Partner with operations to support safety endeavors and coordinate the first report of injury and worker’s compensation process.
Required Qualifications:
We're looking for someone with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and education, and at least 3 years of experience in an HR roles and at least 1 year at generalist level. You should have a strong knowledge of HR practices and labor laws (especially California), excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. The person must be able to seamlessly work through varying tasks with varying levels of complexity. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite is a must. SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
