Human Resources (HR) Assistant

We are looking for a part-time detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Portsmouth, Virginia. This part-time role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in HR processes and administrative tasks. As a Contract to permanent position, this opportunity offers a pathway to long-term employment for the right candidate.


Responsibilities:

• Manage scheduling and calendar activities for the Chief of Administration to ensure smooth operations.

• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes for employees, ensuring compliance with company policies.

• Create and update job descriptions to reflect organizational needs and changes.

• Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.

• Ensure labor law posters are accurate and displayed in compliance with regulations.

• Maintain familiarity with labor laws to support HR practices and decision-making.

• Develop and manage spreadsheets in Excel to organize and track HR-related data.

• Utilize Microsoft Outlook and Word to manage communications and documentation.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources or a related administrative role.
• Proficiency in calendar management and scheduling tools.
• Strong knowledge of onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Familiarity with labor laws and compliance requirements.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for spreadsheet creation and data management.
• Experience conducting exit interviews and analyzing feedback.
• Ability to draft and update job descriptions effectively.
• Competence in using Microsoft Outlook and Word for documentation and communication tasks.
