Position: Human Resources Officer
Location: Clifton, Karachi
Reports to: Director

Job Purpose

The HR Officer will support the HR function by managing recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration and policy implementation to ensure our workforce is aligned with the school’s mission, values and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment and selection: prepare job descriptions, post adverts, screen candidates, coordinate interviews and onboarding. (Recruiting Resources)

  • Assist with performance management processes: coordinate reviews, track goals and development plans. (Western Governors University)
  • Manage employee relations: respond to queries, support line-managers on HR policy/procedures, handle disciplinary or grievance issues in coordination with senior HR. (Indeed)
  • Administer compensation & benefits, ensure timely pay, leave, and compliance with labour laws. (careercompass.my)

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field. (nationalcareers.service.gov.uk)
  • At least [2-3] years of HR experience (ideally in an educational environment or similar).
  • Sound knowledge of employment laws and HR best-practices. (HR Education Network)
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written), interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with HRIS/HR software is a plus. (Recruiting Resources)
  • A strong team-player with problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset.

Desirable

  • Experience in the education sector.
  • Certification in HR (e.g., HRM or local equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of employee development, change management and performance culture.
