Human Resources Specialist

The Human Resources Specialist is the main point of contact for all onboarding, employee communications, HRIS, apprentices, problem resolution, and Human Resources related issues.

DUTIES & SCOPE:

• Onboarding new hires, keeping employee records up to date, processing employee’s status changes.
• Lead and manage preboarding and orientation processes for new hires.
• Reconcile/validate data entry into HRIS to ensure data integrity and supporting routine reporting.
• Propose and administer personnel policies and procedures.
• Administer benefits, such as health insurance, PTO, employee perks, etc.
• Administer performance management practices and assessments.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee communications and HR-related inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws.
• Promote a positive employee experience through consistent communication and problem-solving.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field with coursework in business, accounting, human resource management, professional writing, psychology, and industrial relations.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Human Resources Specialist or Coordinator
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (required).
• Experience in the construction industry or similar field is preferred.
• Professional in Human Resources Certification preferred
• Knowledge of state and federal employment law
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS
• Experience planning, organizing, and administering Human Resources programs or initiatives
• Strong self-awareness and emotional intelligence
• Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities.

The starting base pay for this role is between USD $60,000.00 and $70,000.00 per year. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: location, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
