HVAC Designer Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Designer / Mechanical Engineer with strong knowledge of Qatar and GCC standards, including coordination and approvals with local authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC cooling load calculations (HAP / TRACE / Carrier E20)
• Design chilled water, VRF, ventilation, and exhaust systems
• Develop stair pressurization and smoke extraction systems compliant with QCDD
• Prepare detailed drawings and coordinated BIM models (AutoCAD & Revit MEP)
• Ensure compliance with:
• Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS)
• Ashghal requirements (where applicable)
• Qatar Civil Defence (QCDD)
• Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) regulations
• ASHRAE standards
• Prepare equipment schedules, BOQs, and technical specifications
• Handle authority submissions, comments, and approvals
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during execution

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of HVAC design experience (Qatar / GCC experience mandatory)
• Strong understanding of:
• MME approval processes
• Qatar & GCC mechanical codes
• District cooling and high-rise building systems
• Energy-efficient HVAC design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and load calculation software
• Experience in authority coordination & documentation
• UPDA/MMUP grade (preferred)

Preferred Experience

• Commercial towers, mixed-use developments, hospitality, healthcare, or infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with GSAS or other GCC sustainability frameworks
• Strong coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams
