Job Title: Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer
Department: Mechanical Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Manager / Engineering Manager
Job Purpose
The Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and optimal performance of all rotating and selected static mechanical equipment. The role provides advanced technical expertise in troubleshooting, predictive maintenance, asset optimization, and coordination with contractors and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities1. Maintenance & Reliability
- Lead maintenance activities for rotating and static equipment including compressors, turbines, cryogenic pumps, heat exchangers, cooling water towers, cryogenic tanks, and buffer tanks.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Analyze equipment performance data to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
- Review and approve maintenance procedures, job plans, and technical documentation.
2. Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Provide advanced technical guidance to maintenance and operations teams for diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical failures.
- Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) for recurring or critical equipment breakdowns.
- Recommend corrective actions and long-term reliability improvements.
- Support commissioning, testing, and startup activities.
3. Asset & Performance Optimization
- Lead asset strategy optimization initiatives to enhance equipment lifecycle and efficiency.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to machinery health and performance.
- Implement performance improvement projects for rotating equipment.
- Optimize spare parts strategy and inventory planning.
4. Contractor & Vendor Coordination
- Supervise contractors, vendors, and implementation subcontractors during maintenance and overhaul activities.
- Review technical proposals, inspection reports, and service documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards.
- Evaluate contractor performance and provide technical feedback.
5. Predictive Maintenance & Condition Monitoring
- Interpret mechanical predictive measurement data such as vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and performance trending.
- Recommend early corrective actions based on condition monitoring findings.
- Maintain accurate equipment history records and reports.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in mechanical maintenance of rotating and static equipment in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power Plant, or similar heavy industrial environment.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting compressors, turbines, pumps, and heat exchangers.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment design, maintenance, and failure modes.
- Expertise in predictive maintenance techniques and interpretation.
- Familiarity with asset management and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
- Advanced computer skills (CMMS, MS Office, technical reporting tools).
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective delegation and follow-up capability.
- Strong communication skills in written and spoken English.
- Ability to work in field conditions and stand for extended periods.

Pay: QAR22,000.00 - QAR30,000.00 per month
