ICU Nurse

The ICU Nurse will provide intensive care to critically ill patients, monitor life-support equipment, and support doctors in performing critical procedures. The role requires strong clinical judgment, quick response skills, and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:1. Patient Monitoring & Assessment

• Monitor vital signs, ECG, oxygen saturation, and other ICU parameters.
• Perform continuous patient assessment and identify changes in condition.
• Manage ventilators, infusion pumps, and life-support equipment.

2. Critical Care Support

• Administer medications, IV fluids, and injections as per physician orders.
• Assist with emergency procedures (CPR, intubation, suctioning, etc.).
• Provide care for patients on ventilators, dialysis, or critical observation.

3. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate ICU charts, nursing notes, and medication records.
• Update doctors and team members about patient status.
• Ensure proper handover during shift changes.

4. Infection Control & Safety

• Follow ICU infection control policies and hygiene standards.
• Ensure sterilization of medical equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe ICU environment.

5. Patient & Family Support

• Communicate patient status to family members with empathy.
• Provide emotional support and guidance.
• Educate attendants regarding ICU protocols and precautions.

6. Team Coordination

• Work closely with intensivists, physicians, and other nursing staff.
• Assist in handling critical cases and emergencies.
• Participate in rounds and multi-disciplinary team discussions.

Required Qualifications:

• GNM / B.Sc Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
• Experience in ICU / CCU / Critical Care Unit
• Valid Nursing Council Registration
• Knowledge of ICU equipment and emergency procedures
