Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Import Executive to manage and coordinate end-to-end import operations. The role involves handling import documentation, liaising with suppliers, freight forwarders, and clearing agents, and ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective import of goods.
Key ResponsibilitiesImport Operations
- Manage complete import process from purchase order to final delivery.
- Coordinate with overseas suppliers regarding shipments, timelines, and documentation.
- Track shipments and ensure on-time arrival of goods.
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare, review, and manage import documents including:
- Commercial invoices
- Packing lists
- Bills of lading / Airway bills
- Certificates of origin
- Insurance documents
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import policies, and company procedures.
- Coordinate with clearing agents for smooth customs clearance.
Logistics & Coordination
- Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and clearing agents.
- Monitor freight costs, demurrage, detention, and clearance timelines.
- Coordinate with warehouses and internal teams for delivery planning.
Cost & Record Management
- Maintain accurate records of imports, duties, taxes, and related costs.
- Assist in cost calculations, landed cost analysis, and reconciliation.
- Support finance team with invoices and payment follow-ups.
Reporting & Communication
- Prepare import status reports and shipment tracking updates.
- Highlight delays, risks, or documentation issues proactively.
- Maintain proper filing and digital records of all import transactions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in import operations (experience level adjustable).
- Strong knowledge of import procedures, Incoterms, and customs documentation.
- Experience dealing with customs clearing agents and freight forwarders.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (experience with ERP/CRM is a plus).
