Import / Export Manager

Job Summary:
The Import/Export Manager is responsible for overseeing all import and export operations, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and optimizing logistics processes. This role involves managing shipments, coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs authorities, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. The Import/Export Manager will also develop strategies to expand international trade and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end import and export operations, including documentation, shipping, and customs clearance.
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs laws, and company policies.
• Monitor and track shipments, resolving any logistical or compliance issues.
• Negotiate shipping rates and contracts with freight companies.
• Collaborate with sales, procurement, and production teams to align international operations with business objectives.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, duties, and related documentation.
• Analyze logistics processes to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency.
• Lead and mentor import/export staff, providing training and guidance as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in import/export operations or international logistics.
• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs documentation, and shipping processes.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines efficiently.
• Proficiency in MS Office and logistics or ERP systems.
