Position Summary:

Al-Haadi Mobilya is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Import Specialist to manage and oversee all import-related activities. This role requires expertise in international procurement, customs regulations, documentation handling, and coordination with suppliers and freight forwarders. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth and cost-effective import operations in alignment with the company’s supply chain goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle end-to-end import processes including sourcing, order placement, documentation, shipment tracking, and delivery.
  • Coordinate with international suppliers, custom agents, and freight forwarders for timely shipments and clearance.
  • Prepare and manage all necessary import documentation including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, Form I, HS Codes, and other legal compliance documents.
  • Ensure compliance with Pakistan Customs laws, SROs, and import regulations.
  • Track shipments and update relevant departments on delivery timelines.
  • Liaise with accounts for payment scheduling, LC documentation, and import costing.
  • Monitor and optimize import costs, including duties, shipping, and clearance charges.
  • Maintain updated records of all imports and supplier communications.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to delays, damages, or discrepancies in shipments.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and suggest improvements in procurement strategies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in import operations, preferably in the furniture, manufacturing, or retail sector.
  • Strong understanding of import procedures, LC handling, and custom clearance processes in Pakistan.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and import-related software/tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple shipments and deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of ERP systems for procurement and inventory tracking.
  • Familiarity with duty drawback, tax exemptions, and HS Code classification.
  • Experience in handling sea and air freight logistics.
