We are seeking an experienced In-House Logistics & Customs Specialist to fully manage the company’s logistics operations internally, reducing reliance on external agents. The role will take ownership of end-to-end cargo shipping, documentation, and customs clearance for both imports and exports, ensuring cost efficiency, compliance, and timely delivery—especially for temperature-sensitive dairy products.

Key ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-End Logistics Management

• Independently plan and execute import and export shipments (sea, air, land) without reliance on external clearing agents
• Select and negotiate directly with shipping lines, airlines, and transporters
• Manage freight bookings, container planning, and shipment scheduling

Customs Clearance (In-House Handling)

• Handle complete customs clearance process (import & export)
• Prepare and submit declarations through customs systems (e.g., UAE customs portals if applicable)
• Classify goods using HS codes and ensure correct duty/VAT application
• Liaise directly with customs authorities, inspection bodies, and port officials
• Resolve customs queries, inspections, and shipment holds independently

Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare and verify all shipping documents:
• Commercial Invoice
• Packing List
• Bill of Lading / Airway Bill
• Certificate of Origin
• Health certificates (for dairy/food products)
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, municipality requirements, and import/export laws
• Maintain audit-ready records for all shipments

Operational Coordination

• Work closely witurement, production, QA, and warehouse teams
• Ensure proper cold chain handling for dairy products
• Monitor shipment status and proactively handle delays or disruptions

Cost Control & Optimization

• Reduce logistics costs by eliminating third-party agent fees
• Negotiate freight rates and optimize routes and shipment consolidation
• Analyze logistics KPIs and implement improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in logistics, with direct customs clearance experience (not via agent only)
• Proven ability to handle shipments independently end-to-end
• Strong knowledge of:
• International shipping (Incoterms)
• Customs regulations and clearance procedures
• Import/export documentation
• Experience in food, dairy, or FMCG manufacturing is highly preferred
• Familiarity with UAE/GCC customs systems is a strong advantage
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
