In-House Shipping Lawyer – Dubai

A leading international company based in the UAE is looking at recruiting an experienced shipping and logistics lawyer to join its dynamic legal team in Dubai. This is a unique opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel to work within a legal team of top tiers lawyers and to provide strategic legal advice on a wide range of commercial and operational matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on shipping, charterparty, and marine insurance matters
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including charterparties, bills of lading, service agreements and freight services
• Liaise with external counsel and international stakeholders
• Support management with risk assessment and legal strategy

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer (UK, Australia, or other common law jurisdiction preferred)
• 7+ years’ experience in maritime or shipping law, ideally with in-house exposure
• UAE / GCC experience preferred but not essential
• Strong knowledge of international trade, marine insurance, and shipping operations
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
