Instrument lab technician

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Instrument Lab Technician to join our team. The role involves calibration, testing, and maintenance of instruments and laboratory equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and operational requirements. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in instrumentation, hands-on technical skills, and the ability to troubleshoot effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform calibration, testing, and maintenance of laboratory and field instruments (pressure gauges, flow meters, temperature sensors, transmitters, etc.).
• Assist in setting up and configuring test equipment for experiments, R&D, and quality assurance activities.
• Conduct troubleshooting and repair of faulty instrumentation to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of calibrations, test reports, and maintenance logs in line with ISO/quality procedures.
• Support engineers and lab supervisors in developing and validating test procedures.
• Ensure all work complies with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Monitor inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables required for lab operations.
• Provide technical support during audits and inspections.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in instrumentation laboratory or industrial maintenance environment.
• Knowledge of calibration standards (ISO/IEC 17025 preferred).
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and safety practices.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, ERP systems preferred).
