Job Description:
The Interface Director is a critical executive leadership role responsible for the development, implementation, and governance of the overarching Interface Management Strategy for the entire megaproject. This role requires a seasoned leader with extensive experience in managing technical, contractual, and logistical interfaces across multi-billion-dollar, multi-contract programs to ensure seamless integration and cohesive delivery. The Director acts as the final point of escalation for all interface conflicts and is a key liaison with the projects leadership and external government entities.
Strategic Governance: Define, establish, and enforce the program-wide Interface Management Plan (IMP), policies, and procedures to ensure alignment between all Design Consultants, General Contractors (GCs), Supply Chain partners, and Client entities.
Executive Conflict Resolution: Serve as the final escalation authority to proactively and reactively resolve complex, high-impact interface conflicts and integration issues that threaten the project's schedule, budget, or technical integrity.
Stakeholder & Authority Management: Establish and maintain high-level, diplomatic relationships with all critical internal and external stakeholders, including NEOM's various sectors, utility providers, government regulatory bodies, and third-party agencies to secure timely approvals and data exchange.
Program Integration Oversight: Provide strategic oversight of the entire project lifecycle, ensuring the successful integration of all technical disciplines (Civil, Structural, Architectural, MEP, Systems, Digital/Cognitive Tech, etc.) across multiple contract packages and construction phases.
Risk & Opportunity Management: Identify, analyze, and strategically mitigate interface-related risks, while also capitalizing on opportunities for process optimization and schedule acceleration through improved coordination.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated Interface Management team, ensuring the consistent use of industry-leading Interface Management Systems (IMS) and best practices for documentation, tracking, and closure of all interface points.
Minimum 25 years of progressive experience in Project or Program Management, with a significant focus on managing complex technical interfaces within large-scale, multi-contract infrastructure or city-building megaprojects.
Proven experience in a Director-level or equivalent senior leadership position on projects exceeding $\$10$ Billion USD.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical), Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's Degree is highly preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in navigating complex commercial and contractual frameworks (e.g., FIDIC, EPC) and resolving disputes related to scope demarcation and liability.
Exceptional executive-level communication, negotiation, and diplomatic skills, with a proven ability to influence outcomes across diverse, multi-cultural organizations.
Previous experience working in the Middle East, specifically on giga-projects, is a significant advantage.
