Interior Architect – Fit-Out & Project Design

Job Purpose:

The Interior Architect is responsible for delivering comprehensive, end-to-end interior design solutions for fit-out projects. This includes space planning, architectural detailing, integrated lighting design (including sunroof and skylight solutions), material selection, and coordination during execution.
The role also focuses on designing and developing standardized interior systems and design elements that can be offered as part of the company’s integrated fit-out solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Interior Design & Space Planning

• Develop complete interior design concepts for residential, commercial, and retail projects
• Prepare:
• Space planning and layout drawings
• Interior elevations and sections
• 3D design concepts and mood boards
• Design cohesive interior environments including:
• Walls, ceilings, flooring, and joinery
• Feature elements and focal points
• Functional and aesthetic zoning of spaces

2. Integrated Lighting Design

• Design architectural lighting solutions integrated within interior elements, including:
• Sunroof and skylight lighting concepts
• Cove and indirect ceiling lighting
• Feature wall and panel lighting
• Accent and ambient interior lighting
• Coordinate lighting designs with:
• Gypsum ceilings
• Decorative panels and cladding systems
• Joinery and furniture elements
• Ensure lighting supports design intent, functionality, and occupant comfort

3. Interior Elements & System Design

• Design and detail key interior components such as:
• Gypsum ceilings and partitions
• Decorative wall panels and cladding systems
• Flooring layouts (SPC, laminate, parquet, tiles)
• Joinery elements including wardrobes, cabinets, and vanities
• Develop repeatable and scalable design systems suitable for standardization across multiple projects

4. Product Design & Development

• Conceptualize and design new interior products and solutions, including:
• Modular ceiling and integrated lighting systems
• Panel-and-lighting combinations
• Feature walls and decorative systems
• Coordinate with procurement teams and suppliers to:
• Evaluate materials and finishes
• Ensure cost efficiency and technical feasibility
• Support development of:
• Technical details and drawings
• Installation guidelines
• Visual content for catalogs and sales presentations

5. Project Coordination & Site Support

• Coordinate with:
• Project managers
• Site engineers and supervisors
• MEP and electrical teams
• Contractors and installers
• Review shop drawings and material submissions
• Conduct site visits to ensure design intent is maintained during execution
• Resolve on-site design and coordination issues as required

6. Client & Stakeholder Coordination

• Present design concepts to clients and consultants
• Revise designs based on client feedback, budgets, and site constraints
• Provide ongoing design clarifications during project execution

7. Technical Documentation

• Prepare and review:
• GA drawings, reflected ceiling plans (RCPs), sections, and detailed drawings
• Material specifications and finish schedules
• Design inputs for Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
• Ensure all drawings comply with execution requirements and local regulations

Skills & CompetenciesTechnical & Design Skills

• Strong knowledge of interior architecture and fit-out execution
• Ability to integrate lighting, materials, and architectural details into cohesive design solutions
• Practical design approach with a focus on constructability
• Solid understanding of commonly used fit-out materials and systems

Software Skills

• AutoCAD (mandatory)
• SketchUp / 3ds Max / Revit (preferred)
• Enscape / Lumion / V-Ray (advantage)
• Adobe Photoshop (basic proficiency)

Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or Architecture
• 3–6 years of experience in fit-out projects
• Proven experience in both design development and site coordination
• UAE fit-out experience preferred
