Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced
Inventory Control Supervisor
to lead and control inventory operations for
Ring Main Units (RMU), Overhead Switches, and medium-voltage electrical equipment
.
The role ensures
material availability, high inventory accuracy, team supervision
, and full compliance with
quality, safety, and ISO standards
to support uninterrupted production.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Materials Control
-
Supervise inventory of raw materials including copper, aluminum, steel, insulation materials, switchgear components, CTs/VTs, bushings, fasteners, and packaging
-
Control WIP and finished goods inventory for RMUs and overhead switches
-
Ensure optimal stock levels aligned with production and project schedules
-
Enforce
FIFO / FEFO
and proper material segregation
Supervision & Team Leadership
-
Supervise storekeepers, inventory controllers, and warehouse staff
-
Assign daily tasks and monitor KPIs and SOP compliance
-
Train team on ERP systems, material handling, and safety procedures
Receiving, Storage & Issuing
-
Oversee receiving of materials against POs, drawings, and specifications
-
Ensure proper storage conditions for electrical and mechanical components
-
Control material issuance based on BOMs and work orders
Systems, Reporting & Accuracy
-
Maintain accurate inventory records in
ERP / MRP systems
-
Review stock aging, shortages, excess, and obsolete material reports
-
Achieve and maintain
≥98% inventory accuracy
Audits & Continuous Improvement
-
Plan and conduct cycle counts and physical inventories
-
Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions
-
Improve warehouse layout, storage methods, and material flow
Cross-Functional Coordination
-
Coordinate with production, planning, procurement, quality, and engineering teams
-
Support material planning for new RMU and overhead switch models
-
Manage inventory impact of
Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
Quality, Compliance & Safety
-
Ensure compliance with
ISO standards, IEC requirements, and EHS policies
-
Control non-conforming, rejected, and quarantined materials
-
Maintain traceability for critical components and finished equipment
Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field
-
5–8 years
of inventory control experience in manufacturing or electrical equipment
-
Minimum
2 years in a supervisory role
-
Experience with
switchgear, RMU, or power distribution equipment
is highly preferred
