Job Purpose
The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing the stock control and inventory management functions across multiple warehouses, ensuring accuracy, availability, and minimal wastage of perishable produce. This role requires significant experience in large-scale F&V or FMCG organizations and deep knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). The role ensures that stock is managed in compliance with FIFO/FEFO principles, cold chain requirements, and food safety standards, supporting business growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee inventory operations across all warehouse and distribution facilities.
- Ensure 100% compliance with WMS processes for real-time stock tracking and accuracy.
- Maintain stock levels in line with sales forecasts, procurement plans, and demand fluctuations.
- Implement and monitor FIFO/FEFO stock rotation to minimize expiries and wastage.
- Conduct and oversee cycle counts, stock audits, and variance reconciliations.
- Analyze inventory reports to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Sales, Logistics, and Quality Control for smooth supply chain flow.
- Implement inventory KPIs and SOPs, ensuring adherence across all facilities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with HSE, HACCP, ISO, and food safety regulations in all storage facilities.
- Develop and mentor the inventory control team, ensuring high standards of performance.
Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of inventory management experience in F&V / FMCG / Food Distribution within a large-scale organization.
- Proven track record of WMS implementation and management (SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, Blue Yonder, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of perishable goods handling, cold chain logistics, and shelf-life management.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms.
- Advanced MS Excel and data analysis skills.
- Knowledge of forecasting, demand planning, and stock optimization.
- Strong financial acumen in terms of inventory valuation, cost control, and shrinkage management.
- Familiarity with audit processes, food safety compliance (HACCP/ISO), and UAE regulatory standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Leadership and people management skills with ability to coach and mentor teams.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
- High attention to detail and accuracy orientation.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, perishable goods environment.
