IT Administrator

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide the first level hardware and software support (operating system, MS-office, basic network troubleshooting, hardware, and peripherals), including desk-side or remote technical support for user escalations received through phone calls or emails
  • Configure and deploy desktop/laptop hardware and software, contributing to the proper installation, maintenance and disposal of desktop computers and printers; deploy operating system, application security patches and anti-virus updates as required.
  • Support the users at INDEX with new accounts, email addresses, passwords and provides other privileges as mentioned in the IT policy of INDEX; troubleshoot and configure the equipment and software for new users, installing and configuring the software appropriate for employees and preparing the equipment for regular usage
  • Coordinate with the HR with regards to installing new hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and drivers for end users at their premises
  • Create transparent maintenance schedule which organizes the required monthly maintenance needed on user’s machines
  • Manage the Helpdesk telephone support service for any IT systems and receive calls from users across INDEX; follow up, regularly, with end users to ensure issue has been resolved
  • Participate in the organization wide technology enhancement projects by supporting and installing the necessary hardware/software
  • Assist in performing user migration to new software or to updated software versions, ensuring system integrity in the migration process
  • Assist users in using IT resources efficiently, hence improving INDEX efficiency maintaining a service which is in line with the IT strategy and IT Projects plan
  • Implement new software to enhance the ability of troubleshooting problems and streamlining IT responsiveness and assistance
  • Log and record employee queries and analyses support request database to identify trends and underlying problems
  • Provides statistical data and reporting on regular and ad-hoc basis for management and key departments
  • Provide enhancement request feedback to IT regarding technology environment and customer needs through the defined processes
  • Repair equipment and keep records of all equipment coming in and going out of IT department for maintenance
  • Ensure the effective and timely resolution of technical customer problems; keep customers informed of the status of their request and finally informing the service desk with status of calls and solutions, post completion
  • Administer INDEX virtual & physical servers and systems
  • Manage on premise and offsite system backups
  • Manage the IT Assets and allow better management of the IT equipment all over the year by doing annual round checks to the entire assets and ensuring to update the Asset system accordingly.
  • Manage the IT Disposal Process of outdated equipment.
  • Allow better management to control over the IT running equipment such as Flash memories, Mouse and Keyboards, IT cables etc.
  • Manage the Telephone system and VOIP solution while taking care to meet the telecom requirements.
  • Manage the CCTV and Access Control devices and solution across all business areas.
  • Manage Office 365 administration and allow best methodology of monitoring Microsoft Licensing.
  • Manage Disaster Recovery on premise.
  • Deploy cost effective solutions controls over printers/copiers
  • Develop IT manuals, guides & documentations when required
  • Contribute to the development of department policies & procedures
  • Support INDEX external events when necessary
  • Conduct IT training for INDEX Holding members in collaboration with the HR department

Required Experience:

  • Degree in IT related discipline Computer Science or equivalent and additional professional technical training/certifications in IT System Administration and Network Engineering practice;
  • Certification in Microsoft Administration, Cisco Administration, or other hardware support certifications, and hands-on experience associated with System Administration;
  • Minimum 3 years of IT experience in IT Administrations, and Networking management.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of IT Systems Administration standards and their applications;
  • Exposure with the latest technology and research background will be an added advantage;
  • Good project management skills;
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral. Arabic language is an advantage;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; and
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
