Job Summary

The IT Assistant provides first-level technical support to employees and assists in maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, setting up equipment, and ensuring smooth day-to-day technology operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support to staff via phone, email, and in-person for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords across company systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems (Windows, macOS), email, VPN, and business applications.
  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring local area networks (LAN), Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity.
  • Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patches on systems and software.
  • Log and track support requests using the IT ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Assist with data backup, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Support the setup of IT equipment for new employees (onboarding) and retrieve equipment during offboarding.
  • Maintain an inventory of IT assets including hardware, software licenses, and peripherals.
  • Assist with basic server and network administration tasks as directed.
  • Help enforce IT security policies, including antivirus management and access controls.
  • Prepare documentation, user guides, and training materials for common IT processes.
  • Support IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and office relocations.

Requirements Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of experience in an IT support or helpdesk role (entry-level candidates welcome).

Technical Skills

  • Basic knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) and Google Workspace.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi).
  • Basic knowledge of hardware troubleshooting (desktops, laptops, printers).
  • Familiarity with IT ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Freshdesk).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
