Engineering Company is seeking a motivated and technically skilled IT Support Officer to manage day-to-day IT operations, provide technical support, coordinate with technology vendors, and ensure the smooth functioning of the organization's IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of ERP systems, Oracle databases/applications, networking, hardware troubleshooting, and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to users regarding hardware, software, networking, and system-related issues
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment
- Manage and support ERP systems, Oracle-based applications, and other business software solutions
- Troubleshoot software, system, and network-related issues and ensure timely resolution
- Monitor and maintain LAN, WAN, internet connectivity, Wi-Fi networks, and related infrastructure
- Coordinate with vendors for procurement, maintenance, and support of IT equipment and services
- Visit local markets and technology suppliers to identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors
- Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, and coordinate procurement of IT hardware and software
- Maintain inventory records of IT assets, licenses, and equipment
- Assist in software deployment, system upgrades, and implementation of new technologies
- Manage user accounts, access rights, email systems, and basic cybersecurity controls
- Ensure data backup procedures and system security measures are properly implemented
- Prepare IT documentation, reports, asset records, and support logs
- Coordinate with departments to understand business requirements and provide appropriate IT solutions
- Support ERP enhancement projects and digital transformation initiatives
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems and business applications
- Experience working with Oracle ERP, Oracle Database, or Oracle-based applications
- Sound understanding of networking concepts including LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi management
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and user support services
- Experience in hardware troubleshooting and IT infrastructure support
- Understanding of IT procurement and vendor management processes
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and data protection measures
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
Experience
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in IT Support, System Administration, ERP Support, or IT Operations
- Experience with ERP implementation or support will be preferred
- Experience in vendor management and IT procurement will be an added advantage
