Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated IT Support Specialist to serve as the sole on-site IT professional, providing responsive, high-quality technical support to end users in a fast-paced environment. This role supports Windows and Linux desktop environments (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and requires strong troubleshooting skills, customer focus, and the ability to work independently.
In addition to IT responsibilities, this position may occasionally assist with basic facilities-related tasks, such as receiving IT or office deliveries, coordinating with alarm or security camera vendors, and providing limited on-site support to facilities or service personnel.
Candidates may become eligible to receive a U.S. Government security clearance.
Job Duties
- Answer phones and respond to service requests to assist customers with unique IT-related issues.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues across Windows and Red Hat Linux desktop operating systems.
- Provide Tier 1–2 desktop support, including application support, user access issues, and peripheral devices.
- Enter, track, and document customer issues and resolutions accurately in the ticketing system.
- Apply structured troubleshooting techniques, logical thinking, and root-cause analysis.
- Support and maintain user accounts and access using Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and related identity tools.
- Perform basic administration and support of DNS, DHCP, and general networking concepts.
- Support collaboration and productivity tools, including Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
- Assist with endpoint management and device compliance using Microsoft Intune.
- Follow established IT policies, procedures, and security best practices.
- Deliver excellent customer service while managing multiple priorities in a professional manner.
- Escalate complex issues appropriately while maintaining ownership through resolution.
Qualifications
- Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a background investigation, if required).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Minimum 2 years of experience providing end-user technical support.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting a wide range of end-user hardware and software issues.
- Experience supporting Linux desktop environments, specifically Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), is required or strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint administration, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and Microsoft Intune.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Self-motivated, independent learner, and effective problem solver.
- CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification preferred, but not required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Proven commitment to excellent customer service.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $87,000.00 per year
