JOB DESCRIPTION:

Purpose of the Role

The Joint Manager – Underwriting (Health) is responsible for managing new and renewal health insurance business in accordance with policy terms and conditions, ensuring effective risk assessment, pricing accuracy, portfolio management, and strong coordination with internal teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessment and pricing for medical underwriting activities, considering portfolio performance and actuarial trends.
  • Perform detailed analysis and projections based on claims experience.
  • Coordinate closely with divisions, branches, and development staff for business acquisition and ongoing servicing.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual portfolio reports for management review.
  • Supervise preparation of new business quotations, census data, presentations, and rating sheets, ensuring timely submission to clients and branches.
  • Oversee renewal processes including analysis, renewal notices, rating sheets, loss ratios, lists of insured, and renewal letters for branches/agents.
  • Supervise preparation of revised proposals upon receipt of complete information from clients.
  • Manage and develop team members through training, guidance, and performance support.
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by the supervisor within agreed timelines.

Requirements

  • Education: Minimum Graduation
  • Experience: 5–7 years of relevant experience
  • Industry: Insurance (Health Underwriting preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs140,000.00 - Rs180,000.00 per month
