Job Description - Bar Manager (Sports Bar)

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational and administrative aspects of the Sports Bar to ensure a smooth, efficient, and profitable operation. The role focuses on delivering an exceptional guest experience, maintaining high beverage standards, leading and developing the bar team, and ensuring compliance with company policies, safety, and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Sports Bar, ensuring excellent service and guest satisfaction.
  • Lead, train, motivate, and evaluate the bar team to maintain high performance and team morale.
  • Ensure all beverages are prepared and served according to brand standards, recipes, and presentation guidelines.
  • Oversee the bar setup, cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance of all bar equipment and areas.
  • Monitor and control beverage costs, waste, and inventory through effective stock management and ordering processes.
  • Develop and implement beverage menus, signature cocktails, and promotional offers in coordination with the F&B Manager and Marketing team.
  • Maintain proper cash handling, billing, and POS operations in line with financial procedures.
  • Analyze sales reports, identify trends, and recommend strategies to improve revenue and profitability.
  • Ensure all staff strictly adhere to UAE legal regulations regarding alcohol service and responsible consumption.
  • Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and prompt manner.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge on all beverages, sports events, and promotions to enhance guest engagement.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen, F&B service, and events teams to ensure seamless service during peak hours or special events.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Conduct regular briefings, performance appraisals, and training sessions to develop team skills.
  • Promote a vibrant, energetic, and welcoming sports bar atmosphere that aligns with the brand’s identity.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 4–5 years of progressive experience in a similar role within a Sports Bar, Pub, Lounge, or 4/5-star hotel.
  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage, or related field.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of beverages, mixology, and bar operations.
  • Excellent financial acumen and understanding of cost control, budgeting, and revenue management.
  • Exceptional guest service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management, and MS Office applications.
  • Flexibility to work long hours, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Dynamic personality with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
