Job Description – Maintenance Staff

Role Purpose

To ensure proper maintenance, safety, and smooth functioning of all equipment, utilities, and facilities by carrying out preventive and breakdown maintenance in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen equipment, and civil works.
• Attend to breakdowns and emergency repairs promptly to minimize downtime.
• Maintain and repair machinery, tools, and equipment as per safety standards.
• Monitor utilities such as power, water, gas, and ensure efficient usage.
• Coordinate with external vendors and service providers when required.
• Maintain maintenance logs, checklists, and service records.
• Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and statutory requirements.
• Identify potential issues and report major repairs to the supervisor.
• Support new installations, renovations, and equipment commissioning.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in maintenance areas.

Skills & Competencies

• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and civil maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Knowledge of safety practices and use of PPE.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or relevant trade preferred.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in maintenance (restaurant, hotel, factory, or commercial setup preferred).

Working Conditions

• Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, and on-call duties.
• Physically fit to handle maintenance tasks.

• Equipment uptime and timely closure of breakdowns.
• Adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.
• Safety compliance and minimal incidents.
