Junior Accountant cum Purchase Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Accountant cum Purchase Officer with a minimum of 2 years of experience to support the finance and procurement functions. The role involves assisting in daily accounting operations, handling basic purchasing activities, and ensuring accurate financial records and proper documentation.

Reporting To:

Senior Accountant / Finance Manager

Key Responsibilities: Accounting Duties:

• Assist the Senior Accountant / Finance Manager in day-to-day accounting operations
• Perform data entry and bookkeeping with high accuracy
• Prepare invoices, payments, and employee expense claims
• Handle accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer accounts
• Assist in VAT return preparation and filing
• Assist in WPS processing, payroll, and payslips
• Perform petty cash reconciliation with proper documentation
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records

Purchase / Procurement Duties:

• Prepare and process Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) as per company procedures
• Source quotations from suppliers and compare pricing
• Coordinate with suppliers for delivery and follow-ups
• Maintain supplier records and purchase documentation
• Coordinate with internal teams for material requirements
• Ensure cost-effective purchasing and basic negotiation with vendors
• Maintain track for PO issued and payments

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (accounting + basic procurement preferred)
• Knowledge of VAT regulations in Oman
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Tally / ERP, Odoo is a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
