Advent International Consultants (SMC-Private) Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Accountant with at least one year of experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in financial reporting, account reconciliation, tax preparation, and general ledger management. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Xero is essential to ensure accurate and timely financial records. This role demands a thorough understanding of audit and regulatory compliance, including familiarity with IFRS standards. The candidate will play a key role in maintaining clear financial documentation and supporting both internal and external audits. This position requires a candidate with a Master of Commerce or Bachelor of Commerce degree, who can efficiently manage month-end close procedures and bank reconciliations. While this role does not require managing a team, the successful candidate must demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations. Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities are critical to support the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with IFRS and company policies to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage the general ledger by reviewing, reconciling, and posting journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Perform account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and oversee tax filings, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to maintain accurate records of company transactions.
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely completion of financial reporting cycles.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations regularly to verify the accuracy of cash balances and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Maintain compliance with audit procedures, company policies, and regulatory standards through diligent record keeping and process adherence.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Xero to streamline accounting processes and enhance data integrity.
  • Prepare detailed reports and analysis for management review to assist in financial decision-making.
  • Continuously update accounting skills and knowledge to adhere to changing regulations and best practices in the financial industry.
