Duties

• Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients to support meal creation.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment to uphold food safety standards.
• Support cooking activities by organizing ingredients and ensuring timely delivery of prepared items.
• Handle food safely by following proper storage procedures and hygiene practices in accordance with health regulations.
• Aid in setting up and clearing dining areas during service times to ensure a seamless food service experience.
• Help with dishwashing duties and waste disposal to maintain a tidy kitchen environment.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient meal preparation and delivery in fast-paced settings like restaurants or catering events.

Skills

• Basic cooking skills with an understanding of food handling and safety protocols.
• Strong knife skills for chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients efficiently and safely.
• Experience in meal preparation, food service, or the food industry is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of kitchen operations including food safety standards and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Good communication skills for effective teamwork in busy kitchen environments.
• Prior restaurant or catering experience is a plus for understanding the demands of food service roles.
