Land Surveyor

Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Land Surveyor with at least 5 years of experience in landscape surveying, specifically in the UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing accurate surveys and data collection for landscape projects, including softscapes, hardscapes, and irrigation systems. The role requires proficiency in using modern surveying equipment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with design teams and contractors to ensure precise execution of landscape designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct Detailed Site Surveys:

Perform topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and construction staking for landscape projects. Collect and measure data related to site conditions, such as elevations, terrain, and existing infrastructure.

• Prepare Survey Documentation:

Produce accurate survey reports, maps, and drawings that reflect topographic features, boundaries, and proposed design layouts. Provide clear and precise data to support the design and implementation phases of the project.

• Coordinate with Project Teams:

Work closely with landscape architects, engineers, and construction managers to ensure that survey data is integrated into landscape designs and construction plans. Help prepare the layout for landscaping elements such as irrigation, planting areas, pathways, and outdoor structures.

• Use Surveying Equipment:

Operate and maintain modern surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS devices, and laser scanners to collect precise measurement data on-site.

• Site Layout & Staking:

Assist in the on-site layout of landscape elements, ensuring the proper placement of landscape features in accordance with approved designs. Ensure that the construction team follows survey specifications for hardscape and softscape components.

• Ensure Accuracy & Quality Control:

Maintain high standards of accuracy and consistency in all survey work. Conduct regular checks and revisions to ensure that survey data meets project requirements and industry standards.

• Collaborate with Contractors & Consultants:

Liaise with contractors and consultants to ensure that construction activities are in line with the survey data. Provide ongoing support during the construction phase to resolve any site issues that arise.

• Provide Technical Support:

Offer technical advice and guidance to the project team, including suggesting improvements or adjustments to the design based on the survey results.

• Record Keeping & Documentation:

Maintain organized records of all survey work, including data logs, survey plans, and field notes. Ensure that all documents are up-to-date and accessible for future reference.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Experience:

At least 5 years of experience in land surveying, with a focus on landscape projects, including the survey and layout of irrigation systems, planting areas, hardscapes, and other landscape features. Experience working in the UAE is essential.

• Educational Background:

A degree or diploma in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Certification in surveying and relevant training is highly beneficial.

• Technical Skills:

Proficiency in using surveying equipment (Total Stations, GPS, Laser Scanners, etc.) and surveying software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other relevant tools). Experience with GIS software is a plus.

• Knowledge of Landscape Design:

A strong understanding of landscape architecture principles, including the installation of irrigation systems, planting schemes, pathways, and other outdoor features.

• Attention to Detail:

Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate measurements and survey data.

• Communication Skills:

Good communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus). Ability to coordinate and work effectively with design teams, contractors, and clients.

• Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to troubleshoot and solve survey-related issues on-site, ensuring that the construction process runs smoothly.

• Knowledge of UAE Regulations:

Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and environmental standards in the UAE.
