Land Surveyor - Landscape Experience

Key Responsibilities

• Discussing specific project requirements with clients;
• Perform survey works under the direction and guidance of the Engineer in charge.
• Review and comment appropriately to RFA’s when directed by the Engineer.
• Review and comment appropriately to shop drawings received from the Client/ Contractor, when directed by the Engineer.
• Measuring the ground as required by the client, including aspects such as small and large-scale distances, angles and elevations;
• Gathering data on the earth's physical and man-made features through surveys;
• Processing data. undertaking digital mapping.
• Making use of geographical information systems (GIS) to analyze and interpret site features.
• Producing detailed information (subsequently analyzed by planners, builders and cartographers).
• Using a range of equipment to produce surveys, including GPS and conventional methods.
• Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.
• Verify the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
• Direct or conduct surveys to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds and titles
• Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.
• Write descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in deeds, leases, or other legal documents.
• Analyzing information thoroughly before it is handed over to other professionals;
• Thinking creatively to resolve practical planning and development problems;
• Interpreting data using maps, charts and plans;
• Using computer-aided design (CAD) and other IT software to interpret data and present information;
• Keeping up to date with new and emerging technology;
• Providing advice to a range of clients.
• Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain
• Other duties assigned by superiors from time to time.
