Job Title: Laundry Supervisor
Department: Housekeeping / Laundry Operations
Reports To: Laundry Manager / Operations Manager

Job Summary

The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily laundry operations to ensure efficient washing, drying, ironing, folding, and delivery of linens, uniforms, and guest laundry while maintaining quality, hygiene, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities Operations Management

  • Supervise daily laundry activities and staff performance.
  • Ensure timely processing of hotel linen, uniforms, towels, and guest laundry.
  • Monitor washing, drying, pressing, folding, and packing procedures.
  • Organize workflow to meet deadlines and operational needs.
  • Inspect finished items for cleanliness, stains, and damages.

Staff Supervision

  • Assign duties and schedules to laundry staff.
  • Train employees on machine operation, chemical handling, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor attendance, discipline, and productivity.
  • Motivate staff to maintain high performance standards.

Quality Control

  • Ensure all items are properly cleaned and presented.
  • Separate damaged or stained items for special treatment.
  • Maintain hygiene standards in all laundry areas.
  • Handle complaints related to laundry services professionally.

Equipment & Maintenance

  • Monitor laundry machines, dryers, presses, and ironing equipment.
  • Report breakdowns immediately and coordinate repairs.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.

Inventory & Supplies

  • Monitor stock levels of detergents, chemicals, bags, and linen.
  • Keep records of linen movement and losses.
  • Assist in controlling operational costs and waste.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce workplace safety procedures.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and chemicals.
  • Maintain clean and safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in laundry operations or hospitality laundry.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of laundry chemicals, fabrics, and machines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage teams.
