Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. Responsibilities
- Lead classroom instruction across early childhood education, special education, and developmental disabilities, implementing evidence-based teaching strategies.
- Develop and adapt curriculum plans that align with individual education plans (IEPs), standardized testing requirements, and best practices in literacy education, math, and behavioral health.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavioral therapy techniques and behavioral management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support students’ communication skills and overall development.
- Mentor and supervise teaching assistants and new staff members, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on continuous improvement.
- Conduct assessments of student progress using formative and summative evaluation tools; adjust lesson plans accordingly to meet each child's unique needs.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, behavioral reports, and classroom activities to ensure compliance with educational standards and regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience in classroom management within early childhood or special education settings.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, including working with children with autism, disabilities, or developmental delays.
- Expertise in curriculum development tailored for diverse learners; familiar with Montessori or preschool methodologies is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams effectively.
- Ability to implement behavioral health strategies such as behavioral therapy and behavior management techniques.
- Skilled in lesson planning for literacy education, math instruction, standardized testing preparation, and tutoring sessions.
- Experience working with IEPs and customizing instructional approaches to meet individual student goals.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor staff while fostering a supportive classroom environment that promotes early intervention and inclusive practices.
