Lead Toddler Teacher

Summary

Little Sprouts Discovery Center is looking to hire a full-time Lead Toddler Teacher. Must be able to work anytime between 5:30am-5:30pm, Monday-Friday. Experience in a daycare center is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate. You must be at least 18 years old to apply.



Duties

• Plan, schedule and implement the daily program. Plan appropriate developmental experiences based on age of children.
• Provide care and protection of assigned children.
• Maintain a physical environment conductive to children's growth and development.
• Respect the dignity and basic rights of each child.
• Help children develop appropriate habits in such activities as eating, dressing, napping and personal hygiene.
• Hold regular Parent Teacher Conferences and seek to involve parents the child development program by participating in meetings and demonstrating an interest in the child.
• Supervise and encourage the development of assistant teachers, aides, volunteers and other childcare personnel in the classroom.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences and workshop and other career development and professional activities.
• Assure that equipment and materials are accessible, appropriate and in good condition.
• Perform classroom related and other maintenance duties as requested.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
Provide a monthly newsletter.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have completed high school or it's equivalency
• Have an Associate Degree or higher in Early Childhood Development OR have completed or be willing to complete the Introduction to the Child Care Profession and Skills & Strategies for the Child Care Teacher
• Be CPR and First Aid certified or is willing to obtain within 6 months of assuming the position
Each year after assuming the position, the teacher shall complete 15 hours of continuing education.
