About the Role
The Legal Advisor will provide day-to-day legal support to business and support teams (Operations, IT, HR) across UAE laws and financial services regulation, particularly within ADGM, UAE mainland CMA, and CBUAE frameworks. You will act as an in-house point of contact for regulatory and transactional matters, helping the business interpret and apply rules to real-world scenarios in brokerage and investment services.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day legal advice to business and support teams (Ops, IT, HR) on UAE laws and financial services regulation (ADGM FSRA, UAE mainland CMA, CBUAE, etc.), with occasional multi-jurisdiction input.
- Handle corporate secretarial and entity governance work: board/shareholder resolutions, corporate calendar, board meeting packs/minutes support, ADGM portal actions (renewals, certificates, filings).
- Draft/review/negotiate contracts and create/maintain templates/playbooks (market counterparty, vendor, outsourcing/IT, client-facing, intercompany).
- Review and update internal policies/procedures; propose practical enhancements aligned with regulatory expectations and operations.
- Monitor regulatory developments and relevant case practice; circulate concise updates and recommended actions.
- Support systematic legal operations: implement templates, workflows, checklists, and knowledge base for recurring matters.
- Assist with regulator interaction and reporting support (FSRA/CMA/CBUAE) under supervision.
- Support matters involving other jurisdictions by conducting legal analysis, coordinating input, and liaising with external counsel where required.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of UAE law (ADGM + UAE Mainland) and ability to independently research and understand financial services regulation (ADGM FSRA; UAE mainland CMA/CBUAE) and apply it to real business scenarios.
- Ability to research and structure advice: produce clear, practical legal memos with actionable recommendations and risk-based options.
- Solid legal drafting and review skills: contracts, board/shareholder resolutions, policies and procedures.
- Corporate secretarial capability: corporate calendar, board meeting preparation support, corporate actions/filings (license renewals, certificates, portal submissions).
- Ability to support cross-border matters: identify issues, coordinate inputs, and work effectively with external counsel across jurisdictions.
- Basic understanding (or strong willingness to learn quickly) of brokerage / asset management / investment advisory operating model and associated regulatory expectations.
- Comfortable managing multiple matters in parallel: prioritisation, stakeholder updates, and consistent delivery.
