Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct detailed intake assessments to evaluate patients’ mental health status, medical history, and social circumstances using diagnostic tools aligned with ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems.
- Provide individual, group, family, and crisis intervention therapy utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, psychotherapeutic techniques, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement specialized treatment plans for populations with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, and other chronic conditions.
- Document all clinical encounters accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems while adhering to HIPAA standards for confidentiality and data security.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including medical professionals specializing in psychopharmacology—to optimize patient outcomes.
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups on topics such as addiction counseling, special education strategies, crisis management, and Christian counseling when appropriate.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations using ICD coding systems to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives related to behavioral health interventions or medical records analysis to advance evidence-based practices.
- Respond promptly to mental health crises with effective crisis management strategies while maintaining safety protocols for patients with complex needs.
Experience
- Valid licensure as a LPC in the state of Mississippi.
- Demonstrated experience providing psychotherapy.
- Proven expertise working with children and adolescents in pediatric or educational environments; familiarity with special education is a plus.
- Experience delivering behavioral therapy techniques, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), for individuals with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health conditions; experience working within EMR systems is highly desirable.
- Background in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care—including PTSD—and managing complex cases involving addiction counseling or Alzheimer’s care.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments utilizing diagnostic tools aligned with ICD coding standards (ICD-10/ICD-9).
- Familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes and documentation requirements under HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging patients through individual or group counseling sessions while demonstrating cultural sensitivity and ethical professionalism.
