Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all lifting and rigging operations at site in compliance with approved lifting procedures and HSE standards.
- Independently prepare lifting plans, lifting calculations, method statements, risk assessments, and supporting documentation for routine and critical lifting activities.
- Calculate crane capacity, lifting radius, ground bearing pressure, load distribution, sling angles, and equipment selection for safe lifting execution.
- Review and approve lifting arrangements before commencement of operations.
- Coordinate with project engineers, construction teams, HSE department, and clients for smooth execution of lifting activities.
- Ensure all cranes, lifting accessories, rigging tools, and equipment are inspected, certified, and suitable for the intended load.
- Supervise crane operators, riggers, banksmen, and lifting crews during heavy and critical lifting operations.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and pre-lift meetings with the workforce.
- Ensure compliance with Qatar Energy standards, company procedures, and international lifting regulations.
- Monitor lifting activities to ensure safe work practices and stop unsafe operations immediately when required.
- Prepare and maintain lifting records, inspection reports, equipment certifications, and daily activity reports.
- Evaluate site conditions, crane positioning, and ground stability before lifting operations.
- Participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective actions for lifting-related issues.
- Support shutdown, maintenance, offshore, and onshore lifting activities as per project requirements.
- Mentor and train junior riggers and lifting personnel on safe lifting practices and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Oil & Gas lifting operations, including supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of lifting calculations, crane load charts, rigging plans, and heavy lifting operations.
- Ability to independently prepare lifting studies and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with Permit to Work (PTW) systems and HSE regulations.
- Good leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage critical lifting operations under pressure and within project timelines.
Preferred Certifications
- Lifting Supervisor Certification
- Appointed Person / LEEA Certification preferred
- Rigger & Banksman Certification
- H2S, First Aid & Fire Fighting Training
- T-BOSIET (preferred for offshore projects)
- Valid Third-Party Lifting Safety Certification
Education
- Diploma / Mechanical Engineering / Technical Qualification preferred.
Pay: QAR5,000.00 - QAR6,000.00 per month
